About

Madeleine Wood, kick-started her career in 2008 when she was selected as one of the support acts for rapper EVE on her National ‘Here I Am’ Australian tour.
Those were Madeleine’s hip-hop/pop days.

A lot has changed since then.

Still using the original band members (Pottsie – drums, Toner –bass), MZ.WOOD is now onto something with her manic blend of pop infused synthy, hypnotic electro funk beats.

Andy Grace from 104.3 Gold FM was one of the first to jump on the MZ.WOOD band wagon.
After viewing a YouTube link followed up by seeing the trio play live at the Espy in St Kilda, he invited the band to make an appearance and play live on his show.
(Slightly weird, electro/pop/rock on a ‘golden oldies’ station, but any good publicity is good publicity hey!)

Next to jump on the band wagon was Kyle Sandilands, Dannii Minogue and Greg Beness. (Executive producer of Channel TEN’s Australia’s Got Talent).
MZ.WOOD received industry praise after her audition on this year’s series of Australia’s Got Talent.

With Madeleine’s public profile rapidly expanding this young starlet has leapt from success to success within the Australian music industry. After performing shows across some of Melbourne’s best known and iconic venues there is no stopping this dynamic trio.

Madeleine’s wild purple hair and thigh high boots might draw you in, but it’s their joint talent, true musicianship and honest showman skills that keep you engaged an unavailable to the outside world for the whole duration on their show.

MZ.WOOD’s two hit singles ‘Shanti’ and ‘Rest Room Walls’ are set for release September this year, with commercial radio airplay scheduled for both singles. MZ.WOOD has recorded tracks with some of Australia’s best known producers including  The Calculators (Mushroom Publishing) who have credits such as Daniel Merriweather, Snog and The Spazzys.

MZ.WOOD has also collaborated with Laurence Maddy from Big Boot Productions, who is best known for the ‘Australia’s Next Top Model’ theme song and his work with PEZ and Seth Sentry.
MZ.WOOD is also working alongside MVP whose credits include Spider Lock from G-Unit and Crooked I.

Below the carefree pop princess exterior is a desire to bring joy and happiness to the lives of others. If only for a fleeting few moments at a time MZ.WOOD makes a difference in the world around her and to her that’s all that matters.
‘Shanti’ brings a message of changing the world through love, while ‘Restroom Walls’ shows a little of MZ.WOOD’s cheeky darker side and gives us a glimpse of the outrageous sense of humour. Their cheeky lyrics and dry wit bring a spark to the eye of even the most jaded critics.
With the release of MZ.WOOD’s highly anticipated EP on the horizon after a year in the making, this pop-starlet cannot wait to show all her loyal fans her new tunes.
